Description

The Trade Sales Representative's primary purpose is to drive the visibility, availability, and sales of 254 Beers across key outlets. This role is focused on ensuring our products are well-positioned in the market, maintaining strong relationships with outlet stakeholders, and executing strategies to optimize product placement, stock management, and sales performance. The Trade Sales Representative will act as the frontline ambassador for 254 Brewing Company, ensuring that our beers are consistently recommended, well-stocked, and enjoyed by customers, while also scouting new opportunities for market expansion.

What You Will Help Us With:

  • Product placement and display: Push for Visibility on the menu and prime surroundings with clear descriptions (Beer Name, Style, ABV, and Bottle size). Make sure we are fairly priced, and are we the first beer recommended by the outlet staff?
  • Stock management: Push for POs at all outlets via purchasing managers (Know the stock controller, bar manager & finance personnel). Accurate counting & reporting of current stocks, and expiration dates. based on current stock levels, based on the understanding of sell-throughs to ensure stock quality
  • Relationship building and staff training: Follow-up with phone calls and regular in-person visits to outlets & HQ. Collaborate with the outlet owners, managers, and staff to secure prime visibility, payments, and re-orders, gain support for promotional activities, and address any concerns or issues that may arise.
  • Sales tracking, Cash Collection, and reporting: Engage with sales data weekly. Then prioritize getting ahead of stock outs, credit terms followed, and preventing over-stocks for 254 beer

> Use tools like WhatsApp groups to keep tabs on orders you are pushing, noting when the operations team has received them and delivered

> Prevent expirations through regular reporting, Following FIFO, Refrigeration & proposing promotions

> Accurate reporting of numbers and sharing statements

  • Scouting and onboarding new outlets: Identify and engage potential new outlets within Nairobi. Establish initial contact, present our product offering, and guide the onboarding process to ensure a smooth integration into their inventory.

Experience & Skills We're Looking For:

  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2-4 years of experience in trade sales, preferably in the FMCG or beverage industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience in managing relationships with retailers, distributors, and trade partners.

Soft Skills:

  • Speedy and Clear Communication: Be lightning-fast in responding to customer and team inquiries. Ensure all communications are understood clearly, avoiding ambiguity.
