Assistant Food and Beverage Manager

The Boma Hotel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Food and Beverage Supervisor to support the daily operations of our food and beverage department. This role involves assisting in service supervision, enhancing guest satisfaction, and supporting team members to provide an outstanding dining experience. The ideal candidate will be service-focused, have excellent organizational skills, and play a key role in maintaining high standards in service, quality, and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities:
Support Daily Operations:
- Assist the Food and Beverage Supervisor in overseeing restaurant, bar, and banquet services to ensure smooth operations.
- Act as a point of contact for team members and guests, handling inquiries and resolving any service issues.
- Help coordinate and set up dining areas for various meal services and special events.
Team Assistance and Training:
- Work closely with the food and beverage team to provide guidance and support during service.
- Assist with onboarding and training of new staff members, ensuring they understand the hotel’s standards and service expectations.
- Foster a positive and team-oriented work environment, encouraging staff collaboration and motivation.
Guest Service Excellence:
- Ensure that guests receive a high level of service and address any concerns in a timely and courteous manner.
- Assist with monitoring guest satisfaction and feedback, and work with the team to continuously improve service quality.
- Uphold the hotel’s commitment to providing a welcoming and memorable experience for all guests.
Inventory and Cost Control:
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining inventory levels of food, beverages, and supplies, ensuring they are adequately stocked.
- Support the Food and Beverage Supervisor in minimizing waste and controlling costs within the department.
- Conduct regular checks on inventory and ensure proper storage and handling procedures are followed.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Ensure all food and beverage services meet the hotel’s quality and hygiene standards.
- Help enforce health, safety, and sanitation regulations to maintain a clean and safe dining environment.
- Coordinate with the culinary team to ensure menu items are presented and served according to hotel standards.
Administrative Support:
- Maintain accurate records of daily sales, inventory, and staffing schedules as required.
- Provide regular reports to the Food and Beverage Supervisor, highlighting any operational issues or improvement opportunities.
- Assist in coordinating and organizing departmental meetings and briefings.
Event and Marketing Support:
- Support promotional activities, special events, and holiday dining services as directed by the Food and Beverage Supervisor.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure the successful execution of events, meeting guest expectations.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Diploma or certificate in Hospitality Management, Food and Beverage Service, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a food and beverage role, with supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a guest-centric approach.
- Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills, including MS Office and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
