Description

The Project Finance Assistant will play a key role in ensuring the effective financial management and administration of projects. The position involves working collaboratively with project teams to provide accurate financial reporting, ensure compliance with organizational and donor regulations, and contribute to knowledge management efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Management

    • Monitor and manage project budgets to ensure alignment with approved plans.
    • Process payments, reconcile accounts, and maintain accurate financial records.
    • Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and expenditure tracking.
  2. Project Accounting

    • Maintain detailed records of project expenditures and ensure timely reporting.
    • Generate periodic financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, for project stakeholders.
  3. Compliance and Documentation

    • Ensure adherence to financial policies, donor guidelines, and statutory regulations.
    • Prepare, review, and submit required financial documentation for audits.
  4. Knowledge Management

    • Support the creation and management of financial reports and project data repositories.
    • Assist in compiling financial insights and lessons learned for organizational improvement.
  5. Administrative Support

    • Provide logistical and administrative assistance to project teams.
    • Manage financial correspondence and ensure proper record-keeping.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • CPA Level 4 certification is required.
  • At least 2 years of work experience in finance or accounting roles, preferably in a project-based environment.
  • Proficiency in financial software and MS Office applications (Excel, Word).
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
