Description

Loan Officer will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, evaluating client creditworthiness, driving loan portfolio growth, and maintaining a healthy credit portfolio. This role will also involve preparing and presenting reports to support decision-making processes.

Customer Engagement and Service:

  • Provide high-quality customer service and actively engage with clients to build strong relationships.
  • Address client inquiries and resolve complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Educate clients on financial products and services to meet their needs.

Credit Evaluation and Risk Management:

  • Assess client creditworthiness and analyze financial data to identify potential risks.
  • Conduct credit appraisals and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.

Loan Portfolio Growth and Management:

  • Drive loan portfolio growth through new customer acquisition, retention strategies, and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Monitor loan repayments and follow up on delinquent accounts to minimize defaults.
  • Ensure a healthy credit portfolio through effective loan administration and prudent risk management.

Reporting and Decision Support:

  • Prepare and present detailed, accurate, and timely reports to support management decision-making.
  • Provide data insights and analysis to identify trends and opportunities for growth.

Team Collaboration and Training:

  • Collaborate with branch teams to achieve performance targets.
  • Support staff training on customer service and credit management processes.

Operational and Compliance Duties:

  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and financial procedures.
  • Maintain up-to-date client records and documentation for audits and compliance purposes.
  • Participate in marketing and promotional activities to enhance brand visibility.
  • Minimum grade of C (plain) in KCSE.
  • Diploma in a business-related field.
  • At least one year of experience working in a financial institution.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills.
  • Good understanding of sales and marketing principles.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
