Cashier and Billing Officer
Description
We are seeking an experienced Cashier and Billing Officer to join our team in Mombasa. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing financial transactions and billing processes efficiently and accurately. With a keen eye for detail and strong numerical skills, you will ensure that all financial dealings are handled with the highest level of professionalism and integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Cashiering Duties:
- Handle cash, credit card, and electronic transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Issue receipts and refunds as necessary while maintaining proper documentation.
- Balance cash registers at the end of each shift and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Billing Responsibilities:
- Prepare, verify, and process invoices for patients and clients, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with medical and administrative teams to address billing inquiries and discrepancies.
- Maintain up-to-date records of transactions and billing information in the system.
Financial Reporting:
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports for management.
- Assist in audits and reconciliations by providing relevant financial data.
Customer Interaction:
- Address customer inquiries regarding bills, payments, and financial policies with professionalism and courtesy.
- Resolve billing issues promptly and escalate unresolved matters to the appropriate department.
Compliance and Accuracy:
- Ensure all transactions comply with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of financial and patient information.
Qualifications and Skills
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cashiering and billing, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Skills:
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using billing software and financial systems.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to handle financial transactions accurately and maintain records meticulously.
