Finance Manager
Description
The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all financial operations, including audits, financial reporting, payroll, cash flow management, and stakeholder relationships. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in finance, accounting, and compliance to ensure the organization’s financial health and statutory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Audits:
- Oversee statutory audits, interim audits, and tax compliance audits, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to provide required documentation and explanations.
- Implement recommendations from audit findings to enhance financial controls and compliance.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and other relevant regulations.
- Provide detailed analysis of financial data to support decision-making by senior management.
Payroll Management:
- Oversee payroll processing to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely disbursement of salaries.
- Ensure adherence to labor laws and statutory deductions such as taxes and social security contributions.
Cash Flow Management:
- Monitor cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational needs and investments.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts to guide strategic planning and financial decision-making.
- Optimize working capital by managing receivables, payables, and inventory levels.
Stakeholder Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including banks, auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.
- Act as a liaison between the organization and external parties to ensure compliance and foster trust.
Qualifications and Skills
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or Business Management.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) qualification is mandatory.
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is an added advantage.
Experience:
- At least 10 years of experience in a busy, fast-paced environment, with a focus on financial management and compliance.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of financial and accounting principles, including IFRS and statutory regulations.
- Expertise in audit processes, tax compliance, and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial management tools.
- Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with diverse stakeholders.
