The company’s office is based in Juja, which is located in the Kiambu County of Kenya. Yatta Beekeepers seeks to promote beekeeping amongst the youth and women through education, training, and outreach. The company’s objective is to empower women and youth in rural communities economically through the practice of apiculture.

Role Description

This is a contract role for an Accountant.

• The Accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, reconciling accounts, preparing financial statements, and generating reports.
• The Accountant will also ensure that the company is compliant with financial regulations and provide support during audits.
• This is an on-site role located in Juja.
• The Accountant will also be responsible for providing financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data, preparing reports, and maintaining records.
• The Accountant will also be responsible for performing daily accounting tasks such as general ledger postings and account reconciliation.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Hands-on experience with accounting software and MS Excel
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience in the agricultural industry is a plus

Candidates should possess the following skills:

• Experience in accounting, finance, or related field
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance
• Ability to analyze and interpret financial data
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
• CPA(K) or Level 2 qualification is a plus
• Experience in the agriculture or food industry is a plus.
