We are seeking a skilled and experienced Human Resource Officer (HRO) to join our dynamic team in Nairobi. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of end-to-end HR operations, a well-rounded skill set, and a proven track record in HR practices across diversified industries. This role requires an individual who is a member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) and holds a degree in HR.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. HR Operations Management:

    • Oversee and execute the full spectrum of HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and offboarding.
    • Ensure compliance with labor laws, HR policies, and procedures.
  2. Recruitment and Talent Acquisition:

    • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
    • Conduct interviews, evaluate candidates, and manage the onboarding process.
  3. Employee Relations:

    • Act as the first point of contact for employee queries and grievances, ensuring prompt resolution.
    • Foster a positive workplace culture and promote employee engagement initiatives.
  4. Performance Management:

    • Administer performance appraisal systems and provide guidance to managers and employees on performance improvement plans.
    • Identify training needs and coordinate employee development programs.
  5. HR Compliance and Administration:

    • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure adherence to HR policies and statutory requirements.
    • Prepare and submit statutory returns, including NSSF, NHIF, PAYE, and other labor-related obligations.
  6. Payroll and Benefits Administration:

    • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
    • Manage employee benefits, including leave, medical insurance, and other welfare programs.
  7. Policy Development and Implementation:

    • Develop, review, and update HR policies to align with organizational goals and legal requirements.
    • Provide training to staff on new policies and ensure compliance across all levels.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience at the Human Resource Officer level.
  • Membership with the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) is mandatory.
  • Proven experience in diversified industries is an added advantage.
  • Strong understanding of Kenyan labor laws and HR best practices.

  • High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
