The Employee Relations Supervisor is responsible for managing and resolving employee relations issues to ensure a harmonious work environment. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual to handle disciplinary matters, contract management, and other HR-related responsibilities while ensuring compliance with Kenyan labor laws.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Employee Relations Management

    • Address and manage employee relations issues promptly and effectively.
    • Resolve grievances and conflicts in alignment with organizational policies and labor laws.
  2. Disciplinary Processes

    • Spearhead disciplinary hearings and ensure fair and transparent procedures.
    • Draft and issue show-cause notices, warning letters, suspension, separation, termination, and dismissal letters.
  3. Contract Management

    • Oversee the drafting, issuance, and renewal of employment contracts for staff.
    • Ensure proper record-keeping of contracts and timely renewals.
  4. Documentation and Record Keeping

    • File disciplinary letters in staff files and maintain accurate, up-to-date records.
    • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and legal requirements in record management.
  5. Additional HR Duties

    • Assist the Head of Department with other HR-related tasks and responsibilities as needed.

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory role within a busy HR setup.
  • Proven experience handling disciplinary matters, grievances, and conflict resolution.
  • Good understanding of Kenyan labor laws.
