Cashier

Our client, a leading player in the retail and FMCG industry, is seeking to hire a skilled and detail-oriented Cashier to join their team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a cashier and a background in accounting or finance. This role requires a professional who is accurate, customer-focused, and capable of handling financial transactions efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using cash registers or point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and other payment methods while ensuring accuracy in all transactions.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
• Reconcile cash drawers at the beginning and end of each shift, ensuring all transactions are accounted for.
• Assist with inventory management by reporting stock levels and discrepancies.
• Follow company policies and procedures for cash handling and customer interactions.
• Support other store operations as needed, including stocking shelves and assisting customers on the sales floor.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a cashier or in a similar role.
• A degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field is preferred.
• Background in accounting, finance, or a related field is an added advantage.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Proficiency in using POS systems and basic computer applications.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• High level of integrity and reliability in handling cash and sensitive financial information.
