Gardener – Nairobi

Our client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Gardener to be based in Karen, Nairobi. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the beauty and health of outdoor spaces within a private or residential property. This role requires hands-on gardening experience, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently or as part of a small team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain gardens, lawns, hedges, trees, and other landscaped areas
• Plant and care for flowers, shrubs, and trees
• Regular watering, pruning, trimming, weeding, and fertilizing
• Operate and maintain gardening tools and equipment (e.g., lawnmowers, trimmers, blowers)
• Identify and treat plant pests or diseases
• Keep the outdoor environment clean, organized, and visually appealing
• Assist with seasonal tasks such as mulching and composting
• Ensure safety procedures are followed while handling tools and chemicals
• Requirements:
• Proven experience as a gardener or in a similar role
• Knowledge of local plants, soil types, and climate considerations
• Familiarity with gardening tools and maintenance techniques
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Physically fit with good stamina
• Responsible, trustworthy, and punctual
• Good communication and time management skills
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Certificate or training in horticulture, landscaping, or a related field
• Experience working in residential or estate gardens
• Understanding of sustainable gardening or organic practices is an added advantage
