Accountant

Zuri Health is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to support our growing financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, a good understanding of Kenyan tax laws, and experience in a fast-paced environment. Experience in the healthcare sector will be a distinct advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in month-end close activities and year-end audits.
• Manage petty cash, including disbursements and monthly reconciliations.
• Reconcile digital wallets and payment platforms including M-Pesa, Flutterwave, Paystack, and Pesapal.
• Track accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments to ensure timely collections.
• Review, verify, and follow up on staff expense reports and reimbursements.
• Provide support in budget preparation, forecasting, and financial modeling.
• Monitor budget execution to ensure alignment with company goals and policies.
• Prepare and file monthly and annual tax returns in compliance with KRA regulations.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls, financial policies, and relevant financial regulations.
• Perform ad hoc financial tasks and reporting duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

• CPA-K or equivalent professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA).
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a busy accounting environment; experience in the healthcare sector is an added advantage.
• Proven experience in financial modeling is a plus.
• Proficient in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and Google Workspace tools.
• Solid understanding of Kenyan tax laws, statutory compliance, and reporting requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and organizational ability.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team.
