Accounts Assistant – Accounts Payable & Inventory
Description
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant – Accounts Payable & Inventory to support the finance department. The role will primarily focus on managing accounts payables, VAT compliance, bank reconciliations, and inventory accounting. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process, verify, and reconcile supplier invoices and payments accurately and timely.
- Ensure proper documentation and authorization of all accounts payable transactions.
- Monitor the accounts payable aging report and follow up on outstanding issues.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions in the accounting system.
- Conduct periodic inventory counts and support variance analysis.
- Assist in preparing financial reports related to payables and inventory.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Liaise with internal departments and suppliers to resolve queries and disputes.
- Maintain up-to-date files and records for audit purposes.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA Part II or higher is an added advantage.
- At least 1-2 years of relevant experience in accounts payable and inventory management.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
- Solid knowledge of VAT laws and bank reconciliation procedures.
- Strong Excel and data entry skills.
