Description

The Boma Hotel Nairobi is a luxurious 5-star establishment known for exceptional service, sustainable practices, and providing memorable guest experiences. As part of our dedication to excellence, we are looking for a dynamic, detail-oriented, and experienced Executive Housekeeper to lead our housekeeping operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring cleanliness, orderliness, and overall upkeep of guest rooms, public areas, back of house, and laundry.

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation in all areas of the hotel.

  • Lead, train, supervise, and motivate the housekeeping team to ensure service excellence.

  • Develop and implement effective housekeeping policies, procedures, and schedules.

  • Conduct regular inspections to identify cleaning needs and ensure adherence to standards.

  • Manage departmental budgets, control expenses, and ensure optimal use of supplies and equipment.

  • Coordinate with maintenance and front office teams to ensure timely room readiness and maintenance resolution.

  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely procurement of cleaning supplies and linen.

  • Handle guest requests, feedback, and complaints professionally and promptly.

  • Uphold and promote health, safety, and hygiene standards throughout the hotel.

  • Maintain accurate records related to staffing, room occupancy, laundry usage, and performance evaluations.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Housekeeping, or related field.

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in housekeeping management, preferably in a 4 or 5-star hotel.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent planning, organization, and time management abilities.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • Proficiency in housekeeping software and Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Knowledge of environmental sustainability practices in housekeeping is an added advantage.
