Description

The Human Resource Assistant will support the HR department in managing daily administrative and HR-related tasks. This role is crucial in ensuring smooth HR operations, compliance with labor laws, and effective employee support in a fast-paced security services environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in recruitment processes including job posting, shortlisting, scheduling interviews, and onboarding new security personnel.
  • Maintain and update employee records (hard and soft copies) ensuring accuracy and
  • Monitor attendance and track leave, off-days, and absenteeism for security officers and administrative staff.
  • Support in preparing payroll inputs, verifying time sheets, sick leave claims, and leave
  • Help coordinate employee training and development sessions, especially for guards (e.g. safety drills, customer service, use-of-force training).
  • Support payroll processing by ensuring all HR data is up-to-date and liaising with Deployment officer and finance department.
  • Handle staff queries and complaints professionally and escalate issues when
  • Ensure compliance with Kenyan labor laws, HR policies, and any regulatory requirements specific to the private security industry.
  • Maintain up-to-date employee records both digitally and
  • Facilitate onboarding and induction of new employees especially security officer, ensuring proper documentation and orientation
  • Support HR audits and ensure proper filing of statutory documents such as NSSF, NHIF, PAYE.
  • Assist in performance appraisals and disciplinary
  • Handle general HR administration duties and assist with any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Higher diploma in Human Resource management
  • Minimum 2-4 years’ experience in HR; experience in a security company or similar field is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of Kenyan labor laws and HR best
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational and communication
  • High level of confidentiality and
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle field-related HR issues
