Role Overview
As CFO, you will lead Directline’s financial strategy, ensuring robust financial management, regulatory compliance, and data-driven decision-making. You will be responsible for optimizing financial performance, enhancing controls, and supporting sustainable growth in alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and implement financial strategies to drive profitability and long-term value.
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and capital allocation processes.
- Provide strategic insights to support executive decisions and operational initiatives.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Oversee preparation of accurate financial statements, regulatory filings, and audit readiness.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, IRA, KRA, and other statutory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate timely audit processes.
Treasury & Risk Management
Co‑ordinate cash flow management, liquidity planning, and investment strategies.
Monitor risk exposures (credit, operational, market), implementing mitigation strategies.
Operational Finance & Systems
- Manage finance cycle including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.
- Optimize financial processes using ERP systems for improved efficiency and transparency.
- Drive cost control initiatives and profitability analysis across product lines.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead the finance team, focusing on mentorship, skills development, and performance.
- Engage with regulators, insurers, banks, and investors to manage financial relationships.
- Present financial results and forecasts to the Board and senior leadership.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA or ICAK, CPA(K), or ACCA preferred.
- At least 10 years of progressive financial leadership, with prior CFO or similar roles in financial services or insurance.
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS, KRA, IRA reporting, and insurance finance.
- Strong analytical, strategic planning, and risk management skills.
- Proven leadership abilities, with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
- High-integrity mindset and commitment to corporate governance and ethical standards.
