Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely and compliant financial reporting, overseeing day-to-day finance operations, and supporting the organization in meeting statutory and regulatory obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in accordance with IFRS and internal standards.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS 17 requirements and support related financial disclosures.
- Oversee payables, receivables, and treasury operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes.
- Participate in audit preparation and liaise with internal and external auditors.
- Monitor and reconcile general ledger accounts regularly.
- Ensure adherence to insurance industry financial regulations and reporting requirements.
- Support budget preparation, variance analysis, and financial forecasting.
- Leverage advanced Excel and data analytics tools to streamline financial processes and reporting.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Full professional qualification in CPA (K) or ACCA.
- Minimum of 6 years’ relevant experience, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting role.
- Strong understanding of IFRS 17, treasury operations, and payables management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory and financial management frameworks within the insurance sector.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial data analytics.
- High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
