Description
The Sales Representative is responsible for the direct promotion and sales of Biodeal Laboratories' pharmaceutical products to healthcare professionals, distributors, and pharmacists. This role requires a highly motivated, results-oriented individual with excellent interpersonal skills and a deep understanding of product benefits. Sales Representatives will be the face of Biodeal, building strong relationships, achieving sales targets, and ensuring widespread availability and prescription of our products.
Key Responsibilities:
Healthcare Professional (HCP) Engagement:
- Conduct daily in-person visits to target doctors (Dermatologists, Paediatricians, GPs, Physicians) as per the route plan provided by the Sales Coordinator.
- Effectively detail Biodeal products, highlighting their features, benefits, and clinical efficacy to encourage prescription.
- Address questions, provide scientific information, and manage objections professionally.
- Distribute product samples, promotional materials, and medical literature.
- Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with HCPs to foster long-term loyalty.
Pharmacy Engagement (Retail & Chain):
- Visit retail and chain pharmacies regularly to check stock levels, ensure product availability, and place orders.
- Negotiate favorable shelf placement and visibility for Biodeal products.
- Educate pharmacists and pharmacy assistants on product knowledge and key selling points.
- Install and maintain point-of-sale (POS) materials.
- Gather market intelligence on competitor activities and consumer demand.
Distributor Engagement:
- Conduct regular visits to assigned distributors to monitor stock levels, facilitate order fulfillment, and address any logistical issues.
- Work with distributor sales teams to ensure their understanding and promotion of Biodeal products.
- Strengthen relationships with key contacts within distributor organizations.
Sales Target Achievement:
- Aggressively work towards achieving and exceeding assigned monthly and quarterly sales targets for all product categories (Gastro, Cough/Cold/Allergy, Derma) and individual SKUs.
- Identify new business opportunities and expand market share within the assigned territory.
Reporting & Administration:
- Accurately and promptly submit daily visit reports, sales figures, and market feedback through the designated CRM system or reporting tool.
- Maintain detailed records of doctor, pharmacy, and distributor interactions.
- Manage and submit expense reports in a timely manner.
Continuous Learning:
- Stay updated on product knowledge, disease states, competitive landscape, and industry trends.
- Actively participate in training sessions and team meetings.
CME organisation & Participation:
- Actively invite and ensure the attendance of target doctors to small, focused CME events organized by the Sales & Marketing team.
- Support the logistics and execution of CMEs as required.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Business Administration or Sales Communication or related. An added advantage if you have additionally studied Pharmacy or Medicine.
Experience:
- Proven experience (1+ years) in medical/pharmaceutical sales is highly preferred. Highly motivated and teachable individuals with strong sales aptitude will be considered.
- Experience in FMCG is a bonus.
