The Boma Hotel seeks an experienced and motivated Food and Beverage Supervisor to oversee daily operations in the food and beverage department. This role is responsible for ensuring exceptional guest service, maintaining high-quality food and beverage standards, and supporting the team to deliver a memorable dining experience. The successful candidate will have a strong focus on guest satisfaction, staff management, and operational efficiency, aligning with the hotel's commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operational Supervision:

    • Oversee day-to-day operations of the food and beverage department, including restaurant, bar, and banquet services.
    • Ensure that all services are delivered according to The Boma Hotel’s quality standards and brand guidelines.
    • Conduct regular inspections of dining areas, kitchen facilities, and equipment to maintain high hygiene and safety standards.
  2. Staff Management and Training:

    • Supervise, mentor, and provide ongoing training to food and beverage team members.
    • Schedule shifts and manage staff attendance, ensuring optimal staffing levels during peak and off-peak hours.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and support career development initiatives for team members.
  3. Guest Service and Satisfaction:

    • Foster a positive dining experience by addressing guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally.
    • Monitor guest feedback and implement corrective actions to improve service quality.
    • Promote a welcoming and hospitable environment for all guests, ensuring their needs are met.
  4. Inventory and Cost Management:

    • Monitor inventory levels for food, beverages, and supplies, and coordinate with the purchasing department to maintain stock levels.
    • Assist in managing budgets and controlling costs by minimizing waste and monitoring food and beverage expenses.
    • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  5. Quality Assurance and Compliance:

    • Ensure all food and beverage offerings meet quality, presentation, and taste standards.
    • Implement and enforce policies and procedures to comply with industry regulations and hotel standards.
    • Work closely with the culinary team to provide creative input on menu items and special events.
  6. Sales and Marketing Support:

    • Support marketing initiatives and promotions within the food and beverage department.
    • Assist in planning and organizing special events, such as themed nights, holiday promotions, and banquets.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote dining services and increase guest engagement.
  7. Reporting and Record-Keeping:

    • Maintain accurate records of sales, costs, and inventory for reporting purposes.
    • Provide regular performance reports to the Food and Beverage Manager and contribute to strategic planning.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Food and Beverage Service, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar supervisory role within the food and beverage industry, preferably in a luxury hotel setting.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with a customer-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with POS systems.
