We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Accountant to join our team in Nakuru. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the organization’s financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and balance sheets.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reconciliations and reporting.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes to ensure financial planning aligns with organizational goals.
  • Monitor and manage accounts payable and receivable.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including timely preparation and submission of statutory returns (e.g., VAT, PAYE).
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and maintain cash flow records.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or improved efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and guidance.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information and uphold ethical accounting practices.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in accounting or finance is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar tools).
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations in Kenya.
    • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Certification in CPA or ACCA is an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific financial practices and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
