Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Accountant to join our team in Nakuru. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the organization’s financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and balance sheets.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reconciliations and reporting.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes to ensure financial planning aligns with organizational goals.
- Monitor and manage accounts payable and receivable.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including timely preparation and submission of statutory returns (e.g., VAT, PAYE).
- Conduct bank reconciliations and maintain cash flow records.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or improved efficiency.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and guidance.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information and uphold ethical accounting practices.
Qualifications:
- Education: Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in accounting or finance is preferred.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar tools).
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations in Kenya.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Attributes:
- Certification in CPA or ACCA is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with industry-specific financial practices and regulations.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
