As part of our growth strategy, we are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Stock Controller to join our team and ensure efficient stock management at our branch.
Job Summary:
The Stock Controller will be responsible for ensuring accurate stock management by overseeing inventory movements, reconciling stock variances, and maintaining financial controls to minimize losses and optimize profitability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inventory management, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Cash Management:
- Conduct daily cash reconciliations and ensure accurate banking.
- Perform spot-checks on branch floats to maintain financial integrity.
Inventory Control:
- Oversee the receiving, issuing, and counting of stock.
- Ensure First-In-First-Out (FIFO) principles are followed.
- Update and maintain bin cards and stock records accurately.
Stock Reporting:
- Investigate and resolve stock variances promptly.
- Prepare and update stock reports to support decision-making.
- Monitor and maintain Gross Profit (GP) targets.
Compliance:
- Ensure price accuracy and conduct regular checks on supplier invoices.
- Adhere to company stock policies and procedures.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory and internal audit requirements.
Training & Support:
- Provide training and support to new stock controllers and team members.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Minimum Requirements:
- Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in stock control or inventory management.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office (Excel, Word).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
