Description

The Wholesale Officer will be responsible for selling products to customers in deep rural areas, developing effective sales strategies to meet targets, and building long-lasting customer relationships. The role involves driving sales growth, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining efficient route performance while adhering to company policies and procedures.


Principal Accountabilities/Key Result Areas

  1. Sales Target Achievement: Meet or exceed sales margin targets set by the company.
  2. Customer Engagement: Sell to end retailers and consumers, providing detailed analysis of route performance in terms of sales and gross profit after each trip.
  3. Business Growth: Acquire new business, ensure customer satisfaction, and optimize route performance.
  4. Reporting: Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports and maintain an updated customer database for the supervisor.
  5. Product Delivery: Deliver products to customers, including loading and offloading goods.
  6. Market Analysis: Conduct regular market price analysis to ensure competitive pricing and adaptability.
  7. Growth Opportunities: Identify new sales channels and growth opportunities to enhance overall performance.
  8. Cash and Stock Management: Ensure all cash sales are banked and stock balances align with system records.
  9. Customer Insights: Evaluate customer preferences, including basket value, shopping occasions, brand preferences, price sensitivity, and preferred packaging sizes.
  10. Customer Feedback: Monitor customer feedback, resolve issues promptly, and maintain strong customer relationships.
  11. Stock Management: Focus on fast-moving stock, limit slow-moving SKUs, and implement FIFO (First In, First Out) policies to minimize expiries and reduce costs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Must have a Diploma in any business-related studies.
  • Must have at least 3 years of sales experience dealing with FMCG.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to sell and use Point of Sale (POS) systems effectively.
  • Able to influence sales from retailers and other customers.
  • Inventory management and analytical skills.
  • Cash management skills.
  • Proactive, results-oriented, and well-organized.
  • Great at time management and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • High integrity and professionalism.
