About me
I am an accomplished Logistics Specialist with over 15 years’ progressive experience in ensuring that all aspects of the supply chain process from planning to delivery, are executed efficiently and effectively. Working closely with various teams, including procurement, transportation, and warehouse, to manage inventory levels, optimize delivery routes, and ensure timely delivery of goods.

Warehouse housing
When I joined One Acre Fund in January 2007 they did not have any warehouse a part from a small store within the office premises in Bungoma.I initiated scouting of a warehouse within National Cereal s and produce Board –Bungoma which was successful. As we moved to other regions I used the influence of the contacts I had within NCPB to secure warehouses in the regions we expanded to. Currents we have 18 warehouses across the country out of which 16 are within National Cereals and produce board two are private.
Build team
In 2007 Logistics had only 2 staff. I helped managed and grow the team from 2 warehouse staff to 60 office staff and 80 staff between January and April each year. These are reliable resilient team members who at times work long hours for purposes of ensuring smooth inputs deliveries to our clients.
Transporters data base
When I joined One Acre fund, there was no transport database for a last mile delivery. I built the transport database from scratch and currently we have over fifteen reliable transporters in our data base. These are dedicated transporters who understand our operations and have spread out in Kenya’s One Acre Fund areas of operation.
Seed companies
I initiated contacts with seed companies both local and international during the first 6 years of the organization before this role was shifted to the Global sourcing team. I am happy to report the same contacts are still in use to date. This was for purposes of ensuring our clients received the maize seed varieties they signed for on time to ensure timely planting.
Field work/Data collection
While at the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (ICIPE) I used to spend 2 weeks in the lab and 2 weeks in the field to visit farmers and collect data for analysis in the lab.
This enabled us to develop new techniques and offer extension services especially in integrated pest management (IPM)
Good stakeholder’s relations-External
I have managed to keep stakeholders good relationship by ensuring open engagement even in times of crisis and always looking for a win-win solution. Some of our stakeholders are:
- Transporters – Over 15 transport companies.
- National Cereals and produce Board – Over 16 Depots
- County governments – Over 33 counties
