About me
Being an expert highly trained, tested and proven performer in Finance, Strategic Management, Resource Mobilization, Company secretarial
Services and General Office Administration, a strong believer in KPI’s and performance-based Management styles, with Meritocracy, Pragmatism
and Honesty as the guiding principles, I wish to register my interest in your esteemed organization as a team member.
I served for two terms of three years each, (Kenya Gazette No. 2366 dated 20 th March 2020) as a Council Member of Laikipia University and was
the Chairman of the Audit, Governance and Risk Management Committee and also a member of other Committees, Human Resources,
Academics and Sealing among Chairing the Ad-hoc ERP implementation committee at the University.
I am a holder of both an MBA Degree in Strategic Management and a Bachelor of Commerce Hons (with an Accounting Bias) degrees, both
from the University of Nairobi and a fully qualified and registered member of both the ICPAK (2203) and ICPSK (780) having completed both
my CPA(K) and CPS (K) both in record two consecutive sittings.
Currently I am the Finance and Administration Director of Assured Management Solutions Ltd a Financial and Strategic Management
Consulting Company where I am in charge of Finance, Accounting, Resource Mobilization, Company Secretarial, Supply Chain Management,
Human Resources and General Office Administration for the Company and our various Clients.
I have been trained and scored by SCAC severally currently with my overall rating (Total Score divided by The Number of Items) improving
from 96.34 (June 2019) to 97.51 (March 2020) which is a remarkable improvement in all areas – Strategic Thinking 96.98, Competence 96.33,
Independence 97.14, Preparedness as a Director 98.57, Personal Attributes 97.14 and Awareness of shareholders and Stakeholders 97.86 all
out of 100 Maximum marks. I was appointed and headed the ERP Implementation Committee for the University that guided from sourcing,
implementation, testing and commissioning a fully integrated ERP system (2022/23)
I have a wealth of experience in Financial Management, Accounting, Auditing, Treasury, Budgeting, Internal Controls, General Office
Management, Administration and Company Secretarial functions gained in over a decade experience in active employment in senior positions in
various sectors.
I was the Financial Controller for Agro- Chemicals & Food Company Ltd a GoK Parastatal based in Muhoroni that produced industrial spirit’s
and yeast from cane molasses, with over Kshs 3 Billion annual turnovers (2006/2007), where I sat in the various Board Committees attended Board
Meetings and headed the Tender and Performance Contracting Committees among the daily production duties, sourcing for molasses and assisting
the Marketing Department in sales maximization until 2007 post – election violence when I was forced out.
I am fully computer literate, versatile, team player able and willing to go that extra mile to ensure that positive results are achieved. I headed and
supervised a team that enhanced a fully integrated Ebiz Frame ERP system sitting on oracle platform, which had stalled for over three years, to
completion for Agro-Chemicals & Food Company Ltd. I am fully conversant with MS Packages and Accounting
software’s including Fidelio’s and Micros to Opera Hotel Operating systems. I have also implemented and worked with Business One an SAP
ERP System which I have assisted the developer in installation and customizing fully for administration, supply chain, production, sales and back-
office modules that are fully integrated.
I am conversant with GoK operating systems both the IFMIS and the CBK G-Pay systems and the circulars issued by Treasury. I am also fully
conversant with the Public Procurement systems and Rules and Regulations of procurements. I have been trained in ISO 9001 Quality Management,
ISO 22000 Food Safety Systems and 14000 Environmental Management Certification having worked in a spirit and the food manufacturing
company that had the three ISO Certifications with over 480 permanent staff, over sixty-eight being in Finance Department (Factory and Academy)
I have also worked in Audit Firms, Service Industries, Non-Bank Financial Institutions, Manufacturing Industry, Think Tank and ICT Data
Companies. In IPAR that was a non-profit donor funded institute with a high monthly overhead cost, I managed, with the support of the Executive
Director, to fundraise through consultancy engagements to meet the institute over-head costs for over a year’s period after the African Capacity
Building Foundation (ACBF) donor funding stopped after a 4 three-term funding period..
I have worked in the Hospitality Industry in two 5-Star Hotels – Nairobi Safari Club and Sarova Hotels as a Financial Controller in charge of
all the Finance and Accounting functions, Board Meetings and where I attended the morning briefing, involved in strategic planning, sales and
marketing and other promotional and sales-generating activities. I did my MBA thesis on Competitive Advantage Strategies adopted and used by
five-star hotels in Kenya to gain that market edge – a case study.
In my extra-curriculum activities, I organize the community get together, have sat in the local secondary school as a board member and participate in
youth forums. I have served as a Council Member for Laikipia University a Public University and Chair of the Audit, Governance and Risk
Management Committee among others.
I am an articulate and a resourceful team player who is a result oriented, able and willing to agree on deliverables based on mutually agreed targets
prior to engagement and with money not being my only motivator, willing to discuss and negotiate terms and remuneration at the appropriate time if
