Our client, a leading company in the Fintech industry, is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Accountant to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the company's financial operations as it continues to scale and innovate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update financial records, ledgers, and general accounts.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Ensure timely bank reconciliations and cash flow management.
  • Support the preparation and filing of statutory returns including VAT, PAYE, and other taxes.
  • Assist in budget preparation, forecasts, and financial planning processes.
  • Monitor financial transactions and ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies.
  • Participate in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
  • Analyze financial data and identify trends or discrepancies for reporting to management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (especially operations and tech teams) to align financial processes with business goals.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant fintech regulations and financial standards.
  • Contribute to process improvements and automation of financial tasks where applicable.

  • Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or ACCA qualification is a strong advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ accounting experience, preferably within the financial services or fintech sector.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles (IFRS, GAAP).
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of fintech industry regulations and practices will be an added advantage.
