Accountant Internship

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant Intern to join our finance team in Mombasa. This internship offers hands-on experience in accounting practices, financial management, and exposure to real-world business operations. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, assist with various accounting tasks, and contribute to the overall success of the finance department.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and maintaining financial records, including invoices, receipts, and payments.
• Support the reconciliation of accounts, including bank statements and ledgers.
• Assist in preparing financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
• Monitor and track expenses to ensure compliance with budgets.
• Support the accounts receivable and payable processes.
• Assist with filing tax returns and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Participate in audit preparations and ensure all financial documentation is accurate and complete.
• Perform data entry and ensure proper record-keeping for financial transactions.
• Contribute to month-end and year-end closure processes.
• Any other duties assigned by the supervisor to support the finance team.

Qualifications and Skills

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (current students or recent graduates are encouraged to apply).
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
