Accounts Assistant – Accounts Payable & Inventory

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant – Accounts Payable & Inventory to support the finance department. The role will primarily focus on managing accounts payables, VAT compliance, bank reconciliations, and inventory accounting. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process, verify, and reconcile supplier invoices and payments accurately and timely.
  • Ensure proper documentation and authorization of all accounts payable transactions.
  • Monitor the accounts payable aging report and follow up on outstanding issues.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions in the accounting system.
  • Conduct periodic inventory counts and support variance analysis.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports related to payables and inventory.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Liaise with internal departments and suppliers to resolve queries and disputes.
  • Maintain up-to-date files and records for audit purposes.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA Part II or higher is an added advantage.
  • At least 1-2 years of relevant experience in accounts payable and inventory management.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
  • Solid knowledge of VAT laws and bank reconciliation procedures.
  • Strong Excel and data entry skills.
