
Accounts Assistant- Receivable at Collection Africa
Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant – Receivables to manage customer invoicing, collections, and account reconciliations. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounts receivable or credit control, strong communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced SME environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and issue accurate customer invoices in a timely manner and in accordance with contractual terms.
- Monitor and reconcile customer accounts to ensure timely collections.
- Follow up on overdue accounts via calls, emails, visits, and demand letters.
- Post customer payments and allocate them to the correct accounts in accounting software.
- Maintain and regularly update the customer ageing report, providing periodic updates to management.
- Respond promptly to client billing queries and resolve disputes efficiently.
- Collaborate with the sales and operations teams to ensure smooth invoicing and payment processes.
- Handle additional administrative and finance-related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA Part II or higher.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounts receivable or credit control, preferably in a busy SME environment.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
