Assistant Finance Manager

The Assistant Finance Manager – Financial Reporting & Tax plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective budget management, strategic financial planning, and compliance with tax regulations. Working closely with the Finance Manager, the role supports financial integrity, strengthens internal controls, and drives business growth through sound financial management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

• Oversee month-end closing and prepare accurate financial reports.

• Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations and variance analyses.

• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.

• Monitor budget performance and provide recommendations on variances.

• Develop, implement and monitor internal control frameworks.

• Coordinate internal and external audits and implement audit recommendations.

• Oversee fixed asset management, reconciliations and capital expenditure reporting.

• Ensure timely filing and compliance with all statutory tax obligations.

• Manage tax planning, tax audits and tax risk mitigation initiatives.

• Lead finance process automation and support implementation of new business ventures.

• Maintain proper financial documentation and records for audit purposes.

• Perform any other duties assigned by the Finance Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Education & Professional Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.

• CPA (K), CIMA or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.

• Minimum of 7 years' experience in a senior finance position.

• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, taxation and internal controls.

• Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel.

• Excellent analytical, leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.

• High level of integrity with the ability to manage confidential financial information.
