Billing Officer/Clerk

Healthpact Hospital is seeking to hire a competent and detail-oriented Billing Officer to support the hospital’s revenue collection efforts through accurate, timely, and compliant billing of patients and third- party payers. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of hospital billing systems, with a particular focus on inpatient billing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Generate and verify patient bills for inpatient, outpatient, maternity, and emergency services in line with applicable billing codes and tariffs.
• Ensure real-time capture of billable services, procedures, and items provided to
• Accurately categorize patients (e.g., cash, corporate, SHA, private insurance) in the hospital system for correct billing.
• Work closely with the medical, pharmacy, and nursing teams to confirm bill completeness prior to invoicing or discharge.
• Reconcile daily billing transactions with system entries and cashier
• Submit invoices or claims to insurance providers and corporate clients in accordance with agreed formats and timelines.
• Flag discrepancies or inconsistencies in billing and escalate unresolved cases to the Credit
• Maintain up-to-date billing records and ensure all documentation (e.g., treatment notes, approvals) is filed appropriately.
• Support audit and verification processes by availing necessary documentation and responding to
• Handle patient and client inquiries regarding their bills with professionalism and
• Assist in tracking unpaid invoices and support follow-up on pending claims or patient

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in a business-related field such as:
• Business Administration
• Healthcare Management
• Accounting or Finance
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in hospital billing, preferably in a busy inpatient
• Strong understanding of inpatient billing processes, insurance claim workflows, and billing
• Proficiency in hospital information systems and Microsoft
• High level of accuracy, integrity, and
• Good interpersonal and communication
• Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision and meet daily
