Cashier

Our client in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector is seeking a reliable and experienced Cashier to join their team. The ideal candidate must be skilled in handling cash transactions, operating POS (Point of Sale) and PDQ (Process Data Quickly) systems, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle cash, credit, and mobile money transactions accurately and efficiently
• Operate POS and PDQ systems for sales processing
• Ensure accurate balancing of daily cash and sales reports
• Provide courteous and prompt customer service at all times
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area
• Support the team in stock management and reporting discrepancies
• Follow all cash handling procedures and company policies
• Assist in resolving customer complaints or issues professionally

Requirements

• Proven experience as a cashier, preferably in FMCG or retail
• Bachelors in degree in Accounting, finance or related.
• Strong understanding of cash handling, reconciliation, and reporting
• Proficiency in using POS and PDQ systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Fluency in English is required; knowledge of additional international languages is a plus
• Attention to detail and high level of integrity
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
