Description
We are seeking a dual-qualified financial and governance professional with a background in legal contract management to join our team in the energy sector. This unique role bridges financial management, contract optimization, and board governance—making it ideal for a candidate with both CPA-K and CPS-K qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
Financial & Tax Management: Prepare financial statements in compliance with IFRS, optimize tax compliance (VAT, WHT, Corporate Tax), and manage treasury, budgets, and cash flow.
Contract & PPA Management: Review financial clauses in Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), land leases, and SLAs; track tariffs, escalations, and debt service/lender covenants.
Corporate Governance (CPS Scope): Coordinate Board meetings, draft minutes, compile board packs, and file statutory returns including CR12, share allocations, and annual returns.
Regulatory & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with energy sector regulations, NEMA, and county permits; maintain internal financial and contractual risk controls.
Key Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, or Law (LLB).
Professional Qualifications: Must hold CPA-K (ICPAK) and CPS-K (ICS) in good standing.
Experience: 5–7 years in financial management, with 2–3 years spent inside a law firm or handling legal contract management.
Sector Exposure: Experience in energy, project financing, or capital-intensive infrastructure projects is highly preferred.
