Description

Our client is seeking a proactive and analytical Commercial Accountant to support financial planning, reporting, and commercial decision-making. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, business performance analysis, and partnering with operational teams to improve profitability and strengthen financial controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to support business performance.
  • Monitor cash flow, profitability, and key financial performance indicators.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend process improvements.
  • Prepare and file statutory returns, including VAT, PAYE, and Withholding Tax (WHT), while ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations.
  • Support commercial decision-making through financial analysis and business insights.
  • Review commercial contracts and advise on financial implications and risks.
  • Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational and financial objectives.
  • Assist with internal and external audits as required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related business field.
  • CPA-K or ACCA finalist with active professional membership.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in management accounting, commercial finance, or a similar role.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience using ERP systems.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, tax compliance, and financial analysis.
