Finance and Administration Officer at AWAK

Description

The Association of Women Accountants of Kenya (AWAK) is seeking a highly organized and results-driven Finance and Administration Officer to manage financial operations and administrative functions. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring compliance, supporting revenue growth initiatives, and enhancing operational efficiency to achieve the organization’s objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Management:

    • Develop, manage, and monitor budgets, financial plans, and forecasts.
    • Prepare and present timely and accurate financial reports to support decision-making.
    • Ensure compliance with statutory, legal, and regulatory requirements, including tax filings and audits.
  • Administrative Oversight:

    • Oversee procurement processes to ensure transparency, efficiency, and value for money.
    • Manage asset inventory and ensure effective utilization and maintenance of resources.
    • Supervise and streamline administrative processes to ensure operational excellence.
  • Strategic Financial Support:

    • Provide in-depth financial analysis to guide revenue-generating programs and initiatives.
    • Collaborate with leadership to align financial strategies with organizational goals.
  • Team Leadership and Development:

    • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and administration team to enhance performance and skillsets.
    • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented working environment.
  • Contract and Agreement Management:

    • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements to protect organizational interests.
    • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and address any legal or financial risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • CPA or ACCA certification is required.
  • Proven experience in financial management, administration, and compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirements in Kenya.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
