The Finance Internship at Lewa Wildlife Conservancy is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to gain practical experience in financial management within a leading nonprofit organization. The intern will support the finance department in its mission to ensure the organization's financial integrity and contribute to conservation efforts through efficient financial operations.
Job Description: Finance Intern
Organization: Lewa Wildlife Conservancy (Lewa)
Location: Isiolo, Kenya
Duration: 3 months (with the possibility of extension based on performance)

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and maintaining financial records, including invoices, receipts, and expense reports.
- Support in processing payments and reconciling bank statements.
- Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in the preparation and filing of statutory returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
- Support audits by organizing and providing relevant financial documents and data.
- Assist in tracking expenditures against budgets to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Help maintain an organized and up-to-date filing system for financial documentation.
- Perform data entry tasks and ensure accuracy in financial databases.
- Contribute to the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Provide general administrative support to the finance team as needed.
Eligibility Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree, Diploma, or Certificate in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Recent graduate (2023–2024) eager to gain practical experience in financial management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
- Knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) is an added advantage.
