Hospital Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Hospital Accountant to manage and oversee the financial operations of Africa Inuka Hospital. The successful candidate will ensure the hospital's financial health by maintaining accurate records, preparing budgets, and ensuring compliance with all financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the hospital’s financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Prepare and present monthly financial statements and reports to management.
• Develop and monitor budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
• Oversee accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely billing and payments.
• Coordinate payroll processing and ensure timely statutory deductions and submissions.
• Monitor cash flow and provide financial forecasts to support hospital operations.
• Conduct periodic financial audits and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain and update asset registers, ensuring proper tracking and valuation of hospital assets.
• Collaborate with department heads to develop financial strategies that support hospital objectives.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including VAT, PAYE, and corporate tax submissions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA (K) or ACCA certification is required.
• At least 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare or hospital environment.
• Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal teams and external partners.
• Knowledge of healthcare billing systems and insurance processes is an added advantage.
