The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and purpose-driven Investment & Portfolio Manager to work closely with our portfolio companies and management teams. In this role, you will be at the intersection of finance and operations, providing the strategic guidance and practical support needed to help our investees thrive. You will combine financial acumen with a hands-on approach, coaching entrepreneurs to strengthen their leadership and execution capabilities. Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Management & Strategic Support:
Engage closely with portfolio companies to provide strategic and operational guidance.
Coach management teams to strengthen leadership, decision-making, and execution capabilities.
Define, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) in line with investment goals.
Conduct on-site visits (1–2 per year) to assess progress, identify improvement opportunities, and foster strong relationships.
Support investees in achieving operational excellence and maximizing their social and environmental impact.
Monitor and report on both financial performance and impact metrics.
Investment Execution & Deal Support:
Support the evaluation and execution of new investment opportunities.
Conduct financial analysis, commercial due diligence, and assist in transaction structuring.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
Master's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Professional Experience:
At least 5 years of experience in investment management, corporate finance, or general management within Sub-Saharan Africa.
Proven ability to work effectively in cross-cultural and entrepreneurial environments.
Demonstrated experience in the manufacturing, agro-processing, and/or tech sectors.
Solid understanding of financial statements, reporting, and financial modeling.
Transaction advisory experience is considered a strong asset.
