Relationship Officers – Mariakani

Micromart Africa Limited is a licensed non-deposit-taking Microfinance Institution (MFI) operating across Kenya. We provide tailored credit solutions to a diverse clientele, including Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), Micro Enterprises, employees of the National Government, Teachers Service Commission (TSC), and County Government employees across all counties.

Job Summary:

We are seeking self-driven and customer-focused Relationship Officers to join our dynamic team in Nyamira. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients with a focus on credit sales, loan collections, and building lasting relationships with customers to support their financial growth and ensure timely repayments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Market and sell credit products to targeted customer segments.
• Conduct loan appraisals, risk assessments, and client onboarding in line with the company’s credit policy.
• Follow up on disbursed loans and ensure timely collections.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and client loyalty.
• Prepare and submit accurate daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
• Provide financial advice and educate clients on responsible borrowing and repayment practices.
• Monitor loan performance and proactively address potential defaults.
• Maintain up-to-date records of all client interactions and transactions.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience in a recognized credit-only microfinance institution (MFI).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proven ability to meet sales targets and work under minimal supervision.
• Good knowledge of credit risk assessment and loan recovery processes.
• Familiarity with the Mariakani region and surrounding areas is a strong advantage.
