Facilities & Infrastructure Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities & Infrastructure Manager to lead the deployment, maintenance, and optimization of our electrical infrastructure across Nairobi. Key Responsibilities

1. Infrastructure Deployment & Electrical Design

• Lead the end-to-end deployment of EV charging infrastructure, including site assessment, electrical design, and system installation.

• Develop and review single-line diagrams, load schedules, and protection schemes for charging stations and company facilities.

• Ensure all infrastructure meets EBK, EPRA, and KPLC regulatory standards.

2. Maintenance, Uptime & Compliance

• Establish and manage preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for all electrical facilities and charging equipment.

• Monitor power quality (voltage stability, harmonics, load balancing) and implement corrective measures to maximize charger uptime.

• Ensure full compliance with EBK registration, EPRA licensing (C1 minimum; A1/B preferred), and relevant safety codes.

3. Contractor & Stakeholder Management

• Manage external contractors, electricians, and vendors to ensure quality, timeliness, and cost-effective delivery of infrastructure projects.

• Liaise with Kenya Power (KPLC) on new connections, transformer capacity upgrades, power quality issues, and billing inquiries.

• Build and maintain relationships with landlords, site hosts, and other infrastructure partners.

4. Team Leadership & Technical Oversight

• Supervise and mentor a small team of technicians and junior engineers.

• Set performance targets for infrastructure uptime, response times, and project completion.

• Provide technical input for expansion strategy, including site selection and grid capacity analysis.

Key Requirements

Education & Certification

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems or related specialization preferred).

• Registered with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) .

• Valid EPRA License – Minimum C1 required; A1 or B preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in electrical projects, facilities maintenance, or infrastructure management.

• Proven experience in power systems, EV charging, or similar critical infrastructure (e.g., telecom power, solar mini-grids, data centers).

• Strong working knowledge of KPLC processes, including new connections, capacity assessments, and power quality troubleshooting.

Technical Competencies

• Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, or similar).

• Deep understanding of power quality parameters (voltage dips, transients, harmonics) and mitigation strategies.

• Familiarity with EV charging standards (IEC 61851, SAE J1772) is a strong plus.
