Interior Designer

Surelift Solutions Limited, on behalf of our client, is seeking a skilled and experienced Interior Designer to lead design execution and client engagement for high-end interior projects. This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage both creative design and technical project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

1. Interior Design & Concept Development

• Develop innovative and functional design concepts tailored to client briefs and project goals.

• Create mood boards, color palettes, and spatial layouts for high-end residential/commercial interiors.

2. Product Specification & Technical Design (Core Role)

• Specify all materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E).

• Produce detailed technical drawings, elevations, and sections using design software.

• Ensure all specifications meet quality, budget, and regulatory standards.

3. Client Engagement & Project Advisory

• Lead client meetings to present design proposals and gather feedback.

• Advise clients on design feasibility, material selection, lighting, wall systems, and surface materials.

• Manage client expectations throughout the project lifecycle.

4. Team Leadership & Management (Mandatory Requirement)

• Supervise and mentor junior designers, draftspersons, and interns.

• Assign tasks, review work quality, and ensure deadlines are met.

• Foster a collaborative and creative team environment.

5. Project Coordination & Execution

• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other trades (electrical, plumbing, joinery) for seamless fit-outs.

• Conduct site visits to monitor progress, resolve design-related issues, and ensure adherence to specifications.

• Manage project timelines and deliverables.

6. Commercial Awareness & Sales Support

• Assist in preparing project quotations, bill of quantities (BOQs), and cost estimates.

• Support the sales team in pitching design services and closing projects.

• Identify opportunities for value engineering without compromising design integrity.

7. Market & Trend Analysis

• Stay updated on emerging design trends, materials, and technologies.

• Research and recommend sustainable and innovative products.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.

• Experience:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in interior design.

  • At least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.

  • Proven experience in interior fit-outs, materials specification, and project execution.

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3Ds Max, or similar).

  • Strong understanding of lighting design, wall systems, and surface materials.

  • Knowledge of building codes and accessibility standards is an added advantage.
