We are seeking an organized and hands-on Grounds & Landscaping Supervisor to uphold the beauty and safety of our campus.

Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Grounds & Landscaping Supervisor to oversee all aspects of our campus outdoor environment. In this role, you will lead a team to ensure our lawns, gardens, and recreational areas are safe, clean, and visually appealing. You will play a key role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for students, staff, and visitors while supporting school events and activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Supervision

• Supervise, train, and coordinate daily activities for landscaping and grounds staff.

• Assign tasks and ensure the team works efficiently and safely to meet maintenance schedules.

Grounds & Landscape Maintenance

• Maintain and enhance all lawns, gardens, trees, hedges, and ornamental plants across the campus.

• Ensure proper care of playgrounds, walkways, seating areas, and other outdoor facilities.

• Implement seasonal planting plans and landscape development projects.

Irrigation & Drainage Management

• Monitor and maintain irrigation systems to ensure efficient water usage and plant health.

• Inspect and maintain drainage channels and implement erosion control measures to prevent water damage.

Safety & Cleanliness

• Conduct regular inspections to identify and address outdoor safety hazards, such as uneven ground, overgrown vegetation, slippery pathways, or drainage issues.

• Ensure all outdoor areas remain clean, tidy, and free of debris.

Event Preparation & Support

• Prepare and beautify school grounds for special events, ceremonies, prizegivings, and institutional functions.

• Ensure the campus makes a positive impression on guests and parents during events.

Equipment & Records Management

• Ensure the proper use, maintenance, and security of all landscaping tools and equipment (e.g., lawnmowers, trimmers, sprayers).

• Maintain accurate records of landscaping activities, maintenance schedules, and inventory.

Pest & Vegetation Control

• Implement safe and effective pest and vegetation control measures as needed, in line with school safety policies.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Education: Certificate or Diploma in Landscaping, Horticulture, Agriculture, or a related field.

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in grounds maintenance or landscaping, with at least some experience in a supervisory capacity.

• Technical Skills: Practical knowledge of plant care (tropical and indigenous species), irrigation systems, landscaping techniques, and grounds maintenance best practices.

• Context: Previous experience working in an institutional or school setting is highly preferred.
