College Driver

The Driver will be responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of college staff, students, visitors, and goods as assigned. The role requires adherence to traffic laws and institutional transport policies while maintaining a high standard of professionalism, safety, and courtesy. This position also includes performing basic vehicle maintenance checks and ensuring the cleanliness and roadworthiness of the assigned vehicle(s).

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate college-assigned vehicles to transport students, staff, and visitors to and from scheduled destinations.
• Ensure daily vehicle inspections including fuel, oil, tire pressure, and general vehicle condition before each trip.
• Maintain a clean driving record and comply with all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Keep accurate records of trips, mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle servicing.
• Report any mechanical issues, accidents, or violations promptly to the supervisor.
• Ensure proper licensing and documentation of the vehicle and self at all times.
• Support logistical needs for college activities, such as offsite training, events, and outreach programs.
• Ensure the assigned vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and presentable at all times.
• Assist with occasional manual handling of supplies, parcels, or college equipment when needed.
• Remain flexible with work hours, including availability for early mornings, evenings, weekends, or public holidays as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid and clean Kenyan driver’s license with endorsement for PSV and School Bus.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional driving experience, preferably in a school, healthcare, or institutional setting.
• Certificate of Good Conduct (recent).
• Defensive Driving Certificate will be an added advantage.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to conduct routine vehicle checks.
• Physically fit with the ability to perform minor vehicle-related duties.
