Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Farm Manager to oversee operations on our dryland organic farm. The ideal candidate will bring practical experience in organic, sustainable, and dryland farming, and will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and monitoring of farming activities. A strong background in permaculture or agroecology is a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day farm operations including crop planning, soil management, irrigation, and pest control
• Implement and monitor organic and sustainable farming methods
• Supervise farm staff and provide training to enhance skills and productivity
• Manage budgets, farm inputs, production schedules, and harvests
• Ensure compliance with environmental and agricultural regulations
• Promote practices that support biodiversity, water conservation, and soil health
• Collaborate with the wider team to align farm activities with organizational goals for self-sufficiency and impact
• Maintain accurate farm records and prepare regular reports on productivity and sustainability metrics

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, or a related field
• 2–5 years of hands-on experience in dryland farming, organic agriculture, or sustainable food systems
• Certification in Permaculture or Agroecology is an added advantage
• Proven ability to lead a team and manage farm operations effectively
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Passionate about environmental conservation and rural development
