As part of our expansion, Tranquil Med Centre is opening a new Level 4 Psychiatric and Mental Health Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre in Karen. We are seeking an experienced Pharmaceutical Technologist to join our dynamic clinical team.
Role Summary
The Pharmaceutical Technologist will assist in dispensing medication, managing inventory, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting patient safety through proper medication use and education.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense medications accurately as per prescriptions.
- Provide clear instructions to patients on medication use, dosage, and side effects.
- Maintain stock records, monitor drug expiry dates, and ensure adequate inventory levels.
- Receive, store, and organize pharmaceutical supplies.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws and institutional policies.
- Assist in maintaining proper labeling, storage, and documentation of all medications.
- Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, nurses, and other healthcare providers to ensure optimal pharmacologic care.
- Participate in periodic audits, stock-takes, and quality assurance activities.
Requirements
- A Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution.
- Registration and a valid license from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in a hospital or busy pharmacy setup.
- Familiarity with psychiatric medications and mental health care is an added advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and customer service skills.
- High standards of ethics, confidentiality, and professionalism.
