We offer individualized treatment approaches through a wide array of therapy services, including Psychotherapy, Addiction Support, Marriage Therapy, Group
Therapy, Family Therapy, Rehabilitation, and Wellness Talks in organizations, institutions, and schools.
As part of our expansion, Tranquil Med Centre is opening a new Level 4 Psychiatric and Mental Health Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre in Karen. We are seeking experienced Psychiatric Nurses to join our dynamic clinical team.
Role Summary
The Psychiatric Nurses will be responsible for assessing, planning, and providing nursing care to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. They will collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers in delivering patient-centered and recovery-oriented mental healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to patients with psychiatric and psychological conditions.
- Administer medications and monitor for side effects and therapeutic outcomes.
- Participate in the development and implementation of individualized mental health care plans.
- Offer therapeutic communication, de-escalation, and crisis intervention support.
- Monitor patient behavior and maintain accurate documentation of care and progress.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient management.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, medication, and coping strategies.
- Participate in mental health education, awareness, and prevention programs.
- Uphold professional and ethical standards in mental healthcare delivery.
Requirements
- Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Advanced training or post-basic qualification in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing is required.
- Additional certifications in trauma care, substance use, or counseling are an added advantage.
- Registered and licensed by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or mental health facility.
- Strong clinical, interpersonal, and crisis management skills.
- Computer literate and familiar with electronic health record systems.
