Tranquil Med Centre is a private Level 4 mental health institution located in the heart of Karen, Nairobi, dedicated to promoting society’s mental well-being by providing quality, safe, dignified, accessible, and affordable research based mental healthcare. We offer individualized treatment approaches through a wide array of therapy services,
including Psychotherapy, Addiction Support, Marriage Therapy, Group Therapy, Family Therapy, Rehabilitation, and Wellness Talks in organizations, institutions, and schools.
As part of our expansion, Tranquil Med Centre is opening a new Level 4 Psychiatric and Mental Health Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre in Karen. We are seeking two (2) experienced Psychologists to join our dynamic clinical team.
Role Summary
The ideal candidates will play a critical role in delivering evidence-based psychological care and supporting a multidisciplinary approach to mental health treatment. This is a full-time position based in Nairobi, Kenya. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, formulate diagnoses, and develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Deliver evidence-based therapies, including CBT, DBT, trauma-focused therapy, and other appropriate interventions.
- Lead group therapy sessions, family therapy, and psychoeducation programs for patients and caregivers.
- Supervise and mentor junior psychologists, interns, and departmental support staff.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and other professionals to ensure coordinated, holistic patient care.
- Maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation in line with professional standards.
- Provide support during mental health emergencies and crises.
- Contribute to the planning, implementation, and review of clinical programs and departmental protocols.
- Participate in mental health outreach and wellness initiatives across institutions, schools, and workplaces.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (Clinical, Counseling, or related field) from a recognized institution is required.
- A Master’s Degree in Psychology will be an added advantage.
- Additional professional certifications in mental health or related areas will be an added advantage.
- Must be registered and licensed to practice by the relevant regulatory body.
- A minimum of 5 years of post-licensure experience in a busy hospital setting.
- Demonstrated leadership, clinical judgment, and effective communication skills.
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary mental health team is highly desirable.
