The Cosmetics Manager is responsible for overseeing the cosmetics department's operations, driving sales, ensuring excellent customer service, managing inventory, and supervising a team of beauty advisors or sales associates. This role requires a passion for beauty products, strong leadership skills, and the ability to create a compelling and engaging shopping experience for customers.


Key Responsibilities

Sales and Customer Experience:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve departmental goals and revenue targets.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer needs, resolving complaints, and ensuring a premium shopping experience.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, new products, and customer preferences to recommend the best products and services.

Team Leadership:

  • Recruit, train, and mentor a team of beauty advisors or sales associates.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and performance-driven work environment.

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure the availability of top-selling and trending products.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to order stock and manage deliveries.
  • Minimize shrinkage and ensure compliance with inventory control policies.

Visual Merchandising:

  • Implement attractive and on-brand visual displays to promote new launches and sales campaigns.
  • Ensure product placement aligns with company standards and enhances the customer journey.

Administrative Duties:

  • Prepare sales reports, analyze trends, and suggest actionable improvements to senior management.
  • Develop and manage budgets for the cosmetics department.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience:
    • 3+ years of retail management experience, preferably in cosmetics or beauty.
    • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and leading teams.
  • Skills:
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
    • Knowledge of beauty products, industry trends, and customer preferences.
