Group Reservations & Revenue Manager

The Group Reservations & Revenue Manager is a strategic leadership role responsible for managing all aspects of reservations and revenue optimization at Hemingways Nairobi. This role focuses on ensuring optimal room occupancy, maximizing revenue, and delivering an exceptional reservations experience that aligns with the hotel's standards of luxury.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Management

  • Develop and implement revenue management strategies to optimize room sales and achieve maximum profitability.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive pricing, and demand patterns to adjust pricing strategies and inventory controls.
  • Oversee the implementation of pricing, distribution, and inventory strategies across all booking channels.
  • Prepare and present detailed revenue reports and forecasts to senior management.

Reservations Management

  • Lead and manage the reservations team to ensure seamless and professional handling of guest bookings.
  • Monitor and manage all reservations processes in Opera PMS to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain exceptional service standards in the reservation process to enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with the sales and marketing team to support group bookings and special events.

Team Leadership and Collaboration

  • Supervise and mentor the Reservations & Revenue team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration between the reservations team and other departments, including sales, front office, and marketing.
  • Train team members on best practices in revenue management and reservation processes.

System Management

  • Ensure the Opera PMS Hospitality System is fully optimized to support revenue and reservations strategies.
  • Monitor system configurations to maintain accurate availability and pricing information across all distribution channels.
  • Identify opportunities for system enhancements and collaborate with IT and vendor teams to implement improvements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A minimum of 12 years of professional experience, with at least 4 years in Reservations & Revenue team management.
  • Proven experience in a 5-star international hotel setting.
  • Proficiency in Opera PMS Hospitality System is a must.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to manage complex revenue scenarios.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and lead a high-performing team.
  • In-depth knowledge of the hospitality market, pricing strategies, and distribution channels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification in Revenue Management or related professional development programs.
  • Familiarity with advanced revenue management tools and software.
