Accountant – FMCG

Our Client in the FMCG sector is seeking to hire a detail-oriented and results-driven Accountant to join their finance team in Nairobi.

Job Title: Accountant
Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Industry: Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG)
Salary: Ksh. 50,000 – 60,000

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper bookkeeping
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Handle accounts payable and receivable functions
• Process invoices, payments, and reconcile bank statements
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements
• Support internal and external audits
• Maintain inventory and cost controls in collaboration with the operations team
• Utilize accounting software (e.g., Odoo, QuickBooks, Tally) for daily transactions

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA Part III (CPAK) is an added advantage
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
• Proficiency in Odoo, QuickBooks, or Tally is a strong advantage
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• High level of integrity and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax laws and financial reporting standards
