Description

The Finance Officer is an integral part of finance team that supports Kenyan Country office on financial issues, system and process improvement. The finance Officer reports to the Head of Finance (HoF) and provides review of transactions and relevant documents.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Reconcile the reported expenditure with the financial system of the country offices
    • Prepare the fund reconciliation report with the financial report and bank reconciliation
    • Review of the shared supporting documents for all the transactions from.
    • Work with the submitted budget from the country to review and consolidate them for submission
    • Work with the head office team to get our expenditures and supporting documents
    • Review the reimbursement documents from country offices
    • Read, understand, practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action

    • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

Partner Support and Capacity building.

  • Assist in the preparation of files and documents for the smooth running of programs
  • Prepare Program weekly movement plans and submit to Logistics team;
  • Write reports and project documents and submit to Program Manager as required.
  • Support in the use of monitoring systems and monitoring tools
  • Working and building the capacity of the partners, supporting in developing institutional development plans for the local partners.
  • Effectively manage tools and resources for programmes planning and development,
  • Ensure that all Partner financial data associated with programs are recorded and documented.

Finance & Compliance Management

  • Ensure compliance with donor and Compass Action regulations related to peace and conflict programming.
  • Ensure compliance with security procedures and policies as determined by country leadership.
  • Proactively ensure that team members operate in a secure environment and are aware of policies.

Accountability to Beneficiaries

  • Compass Action team members are expected to support all efforts toward accountability, specifically to our beneficiaries and to international standards guiding international relief and development work, while actively engaging beneficiary communities as equal partners in the design, monitoring and evaluation of our field projects.
